Our Mission

The Santa Barbara Police Activities League (PAL) strives to build positive mentoring relationships between teens, the police department, and members of the community through educational, athletic, and leadership development programs.
PAL is funded entirely by community donations and grants.

SAFELY OPEN

We are offering outdoor programming including morning academic support, small group tutoring, recreational activities and fun art projects for ages 11-18. ​The health and safety of our students and staff continues to be our main priority, all our programming and protocols are aligned with Santa Barbara Public Health Department and the CDC guidelines.
We currently are at capacity with our outdoor programs but are accepting students for a waitlist. To be added to the wait list, please complete the form below.

Online School Academic Support

Afternoon Programming

3:00PM-6:00PM
Open to active PAL participants ONLY.
  • Through our parent communication tool, ParentSquare, parents will be able to sign up their student 24 hours prior for this service. Only active participants will have access to ParentSquare, the public will not be able to sign up.  
  • Students will receive individual workstations and school supplies during morning sessions to prevent them from sharing supplies. 
  • Students will have wifi access for virtual lessons.
  • The afternoon programming will operate in cohorts to limit student interaction.
    • Cohorts will be in groups of 6-8 students max and participate in rotations that include academic support, crafts, gardening, and exercise.
  • All programming will operate outside with the exception of Musicology, which will be conducted in the music room with open windows and doors
  • Masks are required at all times with limited exceptions.

Online Tutoring & College Advisement

  • PAL will provide 30-minute tutoring appointments for students who need individual academic support Monday-Thursday from 10am-5pm
  • Tutors will also be available to answer quick homework questions via chat​
