Join us in celebrating 25 years of the Police Activities League (PAL) and look ahead to 25 more years of building the bridge between cops, kids, and the community. The evening will feature a cocktail hour, a sit-down dinner, and a pulled pork cook-off competition between Santa Barbara Law Enforcement and the Fire Department. There will also be live and silent auctions with unique items and experiences. To ensure everyone's comfort, there will be plenty of heaters available.
HONORING LEIGH AND PAUL CASHMAN
Celebrating 25 years of dedication to putting Kids First, we honor the remarkable contributions of Paul and Leigh Cashman. With a shared passion for community service, they have tirelessly worked together to make a significant impact. Paul, with his extensive involvement in community projects and Leigh, a beacon of support through her active participation in various organizations, have together fostered positive change. Their combined efforts in business and philanthropy, particularly in advocating for Alzheimer’s research and supporting local initiatives, have been instrumental in their 42 years of marriage and professional collaboration. This dynamic duo exemplifies true commitment to community well-being and stands as a testament to the Police Activities League's mission.
HEROES OF THE YEAR: TONY AND ANDREA PIGHETTI
As Santa Barbara locals, Tony and Andrea have always felt that being a caring part of our community is one of their top priorities. Together they take part in First Responder Wellness where they offer peer support in the Santa Barbara area to first responders as well as to the youth community. When they were first introduced to the Santa Barbara Police Activities League they were impressed. Tony and Andrea truly believe in the Mission Statement and will continue to encourage the mentorship of young adults to be the next generation of leaders in our community. Please join us on April 26th to celebrate the successes of the Santa Barbara Police Activities League. Also as a retired fire family, they are rooting for the Fire Department in the pulled pork cook-off competition.
Alumni of the year: officer romeo lopez
Romeo Lopez is being honored as the PAL Alumni of the Year, marking his journey from a dedicated Sergeant in the PAL Explorer post to becoming one of the newest police officers with the Santa Barbara Police Department. His extensive leadership experience within the Explorer program has been instrumental in preparing him for a career in law enforcement. In addition to his commitment to public safety, Romeo has significantly contributed to the community, notably through his work as a downtown ambassador and his recognition with the Kiwanis extra step award for bravery. As a proud bilingual officer, Romeo brings invaluable skills to the force, enhancing communication and trust within the diverse community he serves. His path from a committed volunteer to a vital member of law enforcement embodies the mentorship and service values central to PAL's mission.
